Generator Installation in Austin, TX
Don't Let the Next Power Outage Catch You Off Guard
Power outages aren't always predictable. Severe storms, high winds, equipment failures, and increased demand on the electrical grid can leave your home without electricity for hours or even days. A standby generator provides an automatic backup power source, helping you maintain comfort and keep essential systems operating until utility power returns.
Gardner Electrical installs whole-home standby generators for homeowners who want greater peace of mind before the next outage occurs. From evaluating your property's electrical needs to completing the final connection, our licensed electricians handle every step with careful attention to detail.

What Would You Keep Running During an Outage?
Not every household has the same backup power priorities. Some homeowners simply want to keep refrigerated food cold and a few lights on, while others rely on electricity for medical equipment, home offices, security systems, or HVAC operation.
During your consultation, we'll discuss how you use your home and help determine the right generator size based on the systems you want to power.
Many homeowners choose to back up:
- Heating and air conditioning systems
- Refrigerators and freezers
- Kitchen appliances
- Internet and Wi-Fi equipment
- Lighting circuits
- Medical devices
- Garage door openers
- Security systems
- Well pumps
Selecting the right generator helps balance your home's electrical demands with long-term performance and efficiency.
Automatic Backup Power Makes All the Difference
Unlike portable generators that require manual setup and extension cords, standby generators are permanently installed outside your home and connected directly to your electrical system.
When utility power is interrupted, the system automatically detects the outage and transfers power to the generator. Once electricity is restored, the system safely switches your home back to the utility grid and shuts the generator down.
That means no searching for fuel, running cords through windows, or heading outside during severe weather.
Planning for Today's Needs & Tomorrow's
A generator installation isn't one-size-fits-all. Our electricians evaluate several factors before recommending equipment, including your home's electrical panel, available space, fuel source, and anticipated power usage.
If additional electrical upgrades are needed before installation, we'll explain your options and help you understand how each recommendation supports your backup power system's overall performance.
Our goal is to install a generator that fits your home, not simply the largest unit available.
Built for Long-Term Reliability
A standby generator is designed to remain ready even when it isn't being used. Professional installation helps verify that every component, from the transfer switch to the electrical connections, is properly installed and operating as intended.
Prepare Before the Lights Go Out
The best time to install a standby generator is before you need one. If you're ready to reduce the uncertainty of unexpected outages, Gardner Electrical can help you choose a backup power solution that fits your home and priorities.
We are here to make informed electrical improvements that deliver lasting value. We approach every generator installation with the same commitment to quality workmanship, code compliance, and dependable service that has defined our company for decades.

“We bought a 12x20 metal building. Brad came out to have a look to see what we wanted. I gave him some definite items, but I would also say things like, "maybe a plug here and eventually I may put up lights there". He sent me 4 estimates the same day, so that I could choose the options that I really wanted. The next day I chose and approved one. Brad called to confirm that he received my approved estimate. I expected him to say they could get started in 3 to 4 weeks. This was a Friday and he said they would do the work the following Tuesday. I was pleasantly surprised! I received a text letting me know that the techs would arrive on Tues between 8 & 9 AM (that's pretty precise - usually I get installers who say between 8 and noon or 8 and 5). On Tuesday, the staff called at about 7:50 to say the techs were on the way. They arrived on time, dressed neatly (I was concerned because I knew there was going to be digging and expected rain), very friendly and considerate. Brad came about an hour after they began to see how they were doing and to make sure they (and I) were on the same page as far as what I was envisioning/needing. They stayed into the evening making sure the total project was completed the same day! I was very happy! In fact I'm happy with all the staff that I interacted with: Brianna, Brad, Angel, Nathaniel and Austin. Great job! I'd recommend Gardner Electric to anyone and I'll be using them for any electrical needs in the future.”- Cathy R.
